My sister and I had occasion to attend the Emergency Department at Daisyhill Hospital in Newry recently on a few occasions.
Our experience there was positively influenced but there were 2 members of staff in particular that we would like to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you to.Suzanne (Administrative Officer) was our first point of contact at reception and who received my sister in a calm, welcoming, caring, compassionate, respectful, friendly but efficient way, Suzanne went over and above to ensure my sister who was feeling very weak was seated comfortably, in a chair sanitised especially for her, and was shown to an isolated area to protect her from infection since she’s in the process of receiving chemotherapy, until she was seen by nursing and medical staff. The second person is Sharon (Health Care Assistant) who introduced herself, explained what she had to do, obtained consent and ensured that all aspects of care she provided were carried out in a respectful, dignified, empathetic, warm, caring and friendly way.We are very grateful and forever mindful that sometimes it’s the small things that mean so much. Thank you both very much.
