After accompanying my mother to a physio appointment today, to say I was unimpressed with the attitude of a member of staff would be an understatement.
My mother has a long term cough from being a smoker and couldn't catch her breath with a fit of coughing. The member of staff came outside and asked who was coughing, then after identifying herself, my mother was chastised in front of another patient that covid is rampant and they did not have anything to drink, not offering my mother a drink but basically telling her off for coughing. My mother was also reminded that if she was unwell she shouldn't even be here.
I cannot believe how unprofessional and condescending this staff member was. I am embarrassed that this happened to not only my mother but in front of another patient. Unfortunately my mother already suffers from severe anxiety, hence my accompaniment, so I hope this does not cause an issue to her returning to a future appointment. I hope that this member of staff's interactions with other patients are much kinder than what we received today.
"Unfortunate staff experience"
