My mum was diagnosed with stomach cancer just after having a perforated ulcer and then the results of further biopsy taken last year. To be told this news we were absolutely devastated as she seemed to be doing so well after recovering from her perforated ulcer.
We were then introduced to Kerys, who was my mum's GI clinical support nurse. She was absolutely amazing with my mum and the help and support she's given us as a family from start to finish was absolutely amazing.
Kerys was so approachable, reliable and was always there to offer help and support to us all, whether that be on the telephone or face to face at appointments, or just popping in to visit mum in the hospital to see how she was doing.
She was definitely someone my mum always looked forward to seeing and knew if she had any concerns at all she could always speak to her and the help and support was always there, not just for my mum but for us as a family as well.
Having someone like Kerys whilst going through this tough journey really did make such difference to us all
