"Unable to make a cancellation"

About: Musgrave Park Hospital / Children's Orthopaedics and biologics

(as a service user),

I was unwell last week and unable to make my appointment with the ICATS orthopaedic physio . I tried calling the number on my reminder text to let someone know before my appointment time, however there was no answer and a voice message to say due to unforeseen circumstances there no one available.

I sent an email to advise as well. However I phone laterand someone was there to answer the phone. I was able to rearrange my appointment however I think that if you are able to make appointments for 8:15 there should be someone there to answer the calls from 8:00am. I was worried it would be marked against me.

I keep my appointments or phone beforehand if I can’t make it, however on this occasion I had food poisoning and unfortunately had no way to know that would happen to me. I’m sure this will have happened to other people car breaks down, child sick, stuck in traffic etc.

There needs to be someone to answer the phones before your first appointment or have your appointments starting after 9:00 when there are people to answer phones.
