"My sons myringoplasty surgery"

About: Musgrove Park Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat Paediatrics / Oak Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

Excellent ward. Staff were brillant, every step was explained to my son who had an awful previous experience in hospital. He was extremely anxious about this surgery but was comforted with staffs positivity and good explanation of the procedure.

A fantastic school/rec area for the children. Playing pool helped him relax.

I am extremely pleased you and your son had a positive experience during your stay with us.

All our staff colleagues, including our cross specialities surgical teams, really appreciate how stressful hospital admissions can be for patients and their families, especially with added stresses of needing surgery – so I am so glad we were all able to support your son through an understandably very anxious time providing clear information and attentive care.

I am also very happy to hear our play facilities and spaces helped your son feel more relaxed, easing his anxiety during his stay with us. We are very grateful for the kind donations and funding given to us to help us create these spaces within our Children’s unit.

We have already shared your wonderful feedback with our ENT specialty leads who will share your feedback across their department including the doctors and nurses who looked after your son directly and I will also share with all the staff on Oak ward who looked after your son and the wider Children’s unit. Our staff colleagues work incredibly hard to provide the very best of care to our patients and families so everyone will be hugely appreciative of your thanks and feedback.

I wish your son a very speedy and smooth recovery.
