"A recent accident"

About: Sandwell General Hospital / Accident and emergency Sandwell General Hospital / General surgery Sandwell General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics West Midlands Ambulance Service University NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I broke my hip in the middle of August following a tumble at home. The wonderful paramedics were with me within 20 minutes. I was taken to Sandwell General Hospital, Just a short wait in the ambulance and then into A & E. tests, xrays scans completed and I was admitted on to Newton ward early next morning.

Operation the next day. I have to say that the care and nursing I was shown was outstanding, as it was when I was moved to Lyndon ward. I was discharged and before I arrived home a complete care package was in place. Well done to all hospital staff, and ancillary services,
