About: Shawpark Resource Centre

(as a service user),

I had an assessment that was passed to Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) who decided after my assessment I was to wait and have my ADHD assessment. Despite us already knowing my suicidal thoughts have nothing to do with potential ADHD, I told them my thoughts of suicide are terrifying and there is no help, the staff acknowledged this but were stuck.

I felt they were dismissive and forgot to pass on vital information, which led to a cancellation of my space on the waiting list.

Working full time and not being able to go off sick means I cannot access the online courses they asked me to do about a positive mindset.

I still have no date for an ADHD assessment, which understandable as NHS has no funding to provide extra staffing so assessments for ADHD can be completed on time.

I felt there was no compassion and little safeguarding practice.

Dear Dani1207

Thank you for getting in touch. I am sorry to hear about your experience and the delay regarding your ADHD assessment. As Care Opinion is anonymous, I would be grateful if you could contact Shawpark Resource Centre on 0141 451 2730 and ask to speak to the Nurse Team Leader or Service Manager. They will be happy to discuss this with you.

Kind Regards

Nicole
