"My mindset completely changed"

I first went to CGL at the beginning of April. I walked in dishevelled and broken. My addiction had overwhelmed me. My vices were alcohol and cocaine.

Over the next few weeks after engaging with CGL I started to realise I was not alone. Then I started Foundations of Life. I was nervous but I soon found that the information I was getting was starting to sink in. With the support of my fellow peers and of course, staff my mindset completely changed.

Without this support I very much doubt that I would be here today. It was a rollercoaster of emotions both on the Thursday sessions and the Monday zoom calls. I was always left deep in thought.

Throughout this course I have made friends with peers. I feel that both CGL Cambridge and the Cambridgeshire Recovery service are an invaluable resource and my never-ending gratitude goes to Jo, Emily, Andrea and Arlene. Thank you all very much.
