"Phone call appointments "

We are no longer in covid restrictions, why are doctors not doing in person appointments? It’s disgraceful that patients have to sit on hold for at least 45 minutes to be told they can expect a call ‘sometime in the afternoon.’

How can doctors give an accurate examination of someone over the phone? Also not everyone has the time to wait around for a phone call at some point in the day. This practise is a joke!

Dear Liam

Thank you for your feedback on telephone appointments. The Doctors have limited time during the day, and have telephone appointments in the first instance. This allows them to then book face to face appointments with the patients who need to be seen in person. We understand that waiting for a call may be inconvenient, however staff will ask when booking appointments what your preferred telephone number is, which includes mobiles.

We want to use the limited resources in the best way possible and sometimes this means a telephone appointment in the first instance.

We appreciate your feedback and I will raise this within the practice.

Thank you
