Just over one year ago I had a planned C-section at Victoria Hospital for the birth of my second baby. I've always wanted to get in touch to give my thanks but, well... Time runs away doesn't it?!
Throughout pregnancy and birth I was looked after so incredibly well. I have high blood pressure, so I was in more often during pregnancy and I just felt that every single person really took their role and my/my baby's health so seriously, but with so much warmth. I spoke to Sharon many times when I called with my BP readings and she was a lovely person to be in touch. The consultant Jenny was also completely brilliant. Having high BP was still quite new to me and she helped me come to terms with it. I felt I could ask whatever what was on my mind, and there was always time for them to talk me through it.
During birth I particularly remember the anaesthetist and the surgeon, but to be honest everyone was brilliant. The anaesthetist kept me so calm, despite a heavy blood loss and the surgeon was so reassuring too.
I know this sounds strange, but in a way I was sad my pregnancy was over and I wouldn't see them all again. Obviously I'm delighted it is over and I have my amazing daughter!, but it is such a testament to the people working there that I was sad I wouldn't see them again! I hope they know how appreciated they are.
Thank you.
