About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

I have had a long history of surgical interventions for a very complex fistula, alongside other complicated medical and mental health conditions.

My assigned surgeon, Mr Evgenikos has been nothing but extraordinary in his care towards me, his whole team, including his secretary Jackie have become constants in my life and I gain great reassurance and peace knowing that they are responsible for my care.

As I have had many operations now and have a number of conditions, it's reassuring when nursing staff recognise me in the ward and are extremely thoughtful and caring, I honestly believe their attitudes towards care are commendable and help massively towards recovery.

I cannot thank them all enough for what they have done and will continue to do in the future. I feel truly safe and well looked after.

It sounds as though you have been going through such a difficult time. I am pleased Mr Evgenikos and his team can reassure you. It is lovely that you feel so welcomed by the Nursing staff when you are on the ward and that they are thoughtful and caring. It sounds as though you have built a lovely relationship with them, putting you at ease, making things more manageable, and helping with your recovery.
