"Gallbladder Pain Admitted to Hairmyres Hospital."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Surgery (Ward 5) University Hospital Hairmyres / Surgical Receiving Unit (Ward 4)

(as a service user),

I was overcome with severe pain which I have been suffering with for over 2 years from my Gallbladder.

Once admitted to Hairmyres University Hospital I was taken in and sent to the Surgical Ward 4 where I was put under the care of Mr Saldanha, Consultant who quickly sent me for my first procedure ERCP to clear my Bile Duct of Gallstones then the following day sent me for the General Surgery to have the Gallbladder removed.

I felt Mr Saldanha really had my best interests at heart and explained everything to me throughout the process.

I am thankful we have our NHS and people like Mr Saldanha who genuinely care for patients and provide exemplary care.

I can now recover and go on to have a pain free life which is something I have not had in over 3 years.

I am grateful beyond words.

Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us about your recent experience at University Hospital Hairmyres under the care of Mr Saldanha.

I appreciate this must have been a difficult time for you while waiting for treatment and I am sorry this took such a lengthy time.

I am pleased you received professional care from all the team. It will be a pleasure to share your feedback with them.

I hope you are recovering well.

Kind regards,

Karen Donnelly
