We had to call an ambulance for my mother during a visit to Shetland, and all the staff (ambulance and search & rescue team who were sent as they were close by) were incredibly professional and kind to me and my very distressed child.
At the Gilbert Bain all the nurses we saw were incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful: we were seen promptly, kept informed, and felt in very safe hands throughout.
They were very busy and I was especially grateful for how they noticed my child when I was distracted with making arrangements, reassured her, and offered us both tea and biscuits.
The junior doctor was also very kind, and dealt well with our questions.
