"This is a truly an exceptional team!"

After attending A&E, I was referred to the TIA clinic in WHSCT Altnagelvin Hospital. Within just over 24hrs of referral, I was contacted by the clinic and offered an appointment on the same day.

I met the team of nurses Sinead and Valerie, who conducted a series of preliminary tests before sending me to Dr Sarah for a consultation. An MRI and Doppler scan was scheduled within a couple of hours, before a final consultation with Dr Ahamdule.

Everyone made me feel at ease, and they explained their plan for further investigation very clearly, including a clear plan of medication in the short to medium term. I was so impressed by their efficiency and the priority they placed on me to get the relevant tests scheduled.

I had serious concerns before attending the clinic after hearing of some horror stories within the NHS. I did not experience any of that, other a highly professional and efficient service which took a very heavy load off my mind. I felt these people really cared about me and were determined to help me with my condition.

When the results of my scans were available, Dr Sarah called me at home that afternoon to discuss the results. I can't thank the whole team enough for their help, support and efficiency at such a scary time for me.  This is a truly an exceptional team!
