"Bilateral knee operation"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a carer),

I went to Jubilee ward Northern Devon District Hospital for two new knees (Bilateral) my surgeon was Mr Jones. The staff on the ward were so professional and pleasant throughout all my operation and first bit of recovery. This so helps when your scared and worried.

I fainted and had a few problems so I didn't go home the day after operation but I felt reassured by everybody and was sent home the next day. I'd like to thank Jane who kept me fed with kind conversation, Sue who helped me get moving and Bethan who helped me during painful moments doing the physio. Mr Jones has a great team and a great ward in Jubilee.

Dear Samx23,

Thankyou for taking the time to give feedback on your recent surgery with us on the ward.

I am pleased to hear that the staff were able to give you reassurance from feeling scared and worried. We do our very best to put patients minds at ease prior to their surgery.

I'm sorry to hear that you experienced fainting episodes and other problems, these do occasionally occur following an anaesthetic combined with surgery, and staff are very well trained in assisting patients to soon feel better.

I will pass on your comments to the team and we all would like to wish you a speedy recovery.

Kind Regards

Julie
