Every time I have to attend this hospital I dread it due to the parking situation. I am very glad they didn't take my blood pressure today after a 25 minute battle to secure a disabled space. I'm exhausted and fed up knowing I'm back there next week for another appointment.
I am very aware of the environmental concerns, however my next solution involves a lift from mum who lives and 80 mile round trip - how is that environmentally friendly? How is 25 mins extra driving to secure a space environmentally friendly? 20 minutes of a nurse's time wasted because I was late. I cannot use public transport, I am too ill and the effort required to get to a bus stop, get the bus, and then the same home again, it's just not something my health can sustain. With a compromised immune system it's not safe. A full day on hospital transport would need a 3-day recovery. I don't feel it's okay to treat your most vulnerable members of society with such little care. I am not alone in this. Any time I have mentioned parking everyone has a story.
