"Looked after on the maternity ward"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Maternity Care (Wards 21-24)

(as the patient),

I am so thankful to all of the staff involved in looking after me and getting my baby here quickly and safely. Lynne and student Kirsty delivered our baby girl in July.  I felt in safe hands throughout.

I can't remember all of the staff names but that night I haemorrhaged in the maternity ward. There were a lot of staff around me and I was terrified I will never forget the staff reassuring me and holding my hand. I was taken to theatre within 20 mins. Doctor Sam and anaesthetist Adam were amazing and the nurse who took my hand and told me she would look after me and everyone of you did. I will be forever grateful.

Dear N87,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us in Maternity.

I am so glad you felt reassured and in safe hands especially when you returned to theatre. That would have been a frightening time for you and it is so important to staff that you feel safe.

I will be sure to share your experience with staff to let them know the impact they had on your journey with us.

Congratulations and best wishes to you and your family from all of us in Maternity.

Leah.
