"You gave us peaceful last days together"

About: Kilbryde Hospice

(as a relative),

My husband spent the last 3 days of his life in the Kilbride Hospice. This sanctuary was a comfort to me in the darkest days of my life. The care and dedication of staff I am unable to put into words -  I really cannot do that because sometimes in life there are no words. It is something you see and feel deep in your heart and soul and it is awesomely beautiful.

The care and compassion given to my husband was fantastic and comforting to me to know that his last days he was surrounded by Love, Dignity, Compassion pain free from the cancer that raged in his body and his passing at the end easy. From the hand placed on my arm when I fell asleep leaning on the rails of his bed and looking round to see an angel brought me a recliner chair and a pillow, the minister who came in and gave so  much comfort to us all who were with him , and his hand being placed on his bible when he passed.

Staff coming in at regular times to make sure he was comfortable. There are so many stories to tell. This is truly a wonderful place and special people who work there it is a true dedication.

I cannot thank  all of you each and everyone of you  enough for everything you done for us both. You gave us  peaceful last days together. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Dear RandJ13

Thank you very much for taking the time to write such beautiful words regarding you & your husbands time at Kilbryde Hospice, As the Deputy Manager of the Inpatient Unit, it is really lovely to read that your husband received fantastic care & his last few days were surrounded with love, compassion & dignity.

You mentioned that the compassion that your husband received gave you great comfort, it was our pleasure creating these memories with you both & a privilege to be part of your difficult journey.

As a team, we try our very best to facilitate this & I will ensure this is fed back to the team.

Please continue to look after after yourself & if there is anything we can do to support you further then please call us on 01355 202020 & ask for Clinical Administration.

With many thanks,

Lynn.
