"Their act of kindness made a huge impact"

About: Renal (Kidney) Medicine & Dialysis

(as a relative),

My dad was extremely unwell last year and ended up in renal failure requiring renal dialysis 3 times a week. After the first couple of months he has settled into his routine of attending the Renal Dialysis Unit on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. His treatment has given him a new lease of life and my mum and dad are back to enjoying time together out of the house when he isn't at the unit.

Dad had a significant birthday last week and when he went to have dialysis yesterday, "his nurses", as he calls them, had a balloon, a present and a card for him...he was delighted and couldn't wait to tell all of us about their kindness.

What a difference a year has made. Last year I didn't think dad would see his next birthday. I want to thank all the staff in the dialysis unit at Crosshouse for the care they give to all their patients and acknowledge how their act of kindness made a huge impact..thanks

On behalf of my team I am delighted with this feedback. We do try to make our patients journey as easy as we can and that includes celebrating landmark birthday and making our patients fell special. I will share this feedback with my team. SCN Fiona McFadyen RDU, Ayrshire and Arran
