"I was asking for more help"

About: Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was 3 times in A&E on last month when she was very sick with abdominal pain, unable to eat for a few days, high blood sugar level  but drinking abnormal amount of water. That was DKA, which they did know on that day! A life threatening condition! And we were sent home with laxatives!

Even when I was asking for more exams and highlighting to the doctor we saw the high glucose level in my daughter's blood,  which my daughter never had before, horrible abdominal pain, increased thirst and frequent urination.

I said to the doctor that my daughter was complaining for acid taste in her mouth and I was feeling that characteristic fruity-scented breath from her. She was short of of breath. I was asking for more help because I knew that it's more serious condition with my daughter, but the doctor sent us to go back to GP.

We did not wait till the Monday, on the Sunday I took my daughter back to A&E. She couldn't move because she was in so big pain and her blood sugar was 28! On that day they took my daughter to HDU children's ward, they told us that it's DKA and she has diabetes type1.

She could die if we could listen to that doctor in A&E.
