I came in to have my baby and recently delivered him. From the minute I got to the maternity hospital I was so well looked after and everyone was so kind.
Initially Gillian looked after me and she and the HCSW could not have done more for me overnight. A student midwife, Abbie, came in to be with me after my labour had progressed quite quickly and I was transferred to the labour ward (CLU).
Abbie asked if she could stay with me, even though she had done a night shift. I was more than happy for her to stay because of how kind and supportive she had been through the night. Kirsty was the midwife who also looked after me in the CLU and the charge midwife was there for the birth of the baby too.
I could not have done it without these women supporting me, and I have to give so much thanks to them all. They encourage me, held my hand and guided me through the birth. It was such a positive experience for me and both me and baby were well, safe and happy.
I can't thank Abbie enough, she was the most wonderful and kind student and will make the most amazing midwife when she qualifies. I am so glad she delivered my baby and stayed with me. Really went a above and beyond. All the staff did. Kirsty and the charge midwife were incredible too, absolutely nothing was too much trouble
They all helped me stay calm and have such a good birth. We were so well looked after until we went home at night. Thank you to all!
