Last October when walking down some particularly dangerous steps, I missed one. I thought I’d gone over on my ankle until I heard the snap, then the pain.
When the ambulance arrived, they were magnificent and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where I spent 2 weeks. When I came home following my surgery, not long after Dawn the physio came to help me.
Dawn has been nothing short of amazing and helped me in more ways than I can express to help me get better. She was there for me and literally guided me step by step to get me up and about and walking again.
Dawn was extremely focussed on making sure I was doing my exercises correctly and when she came back she knew that I had worked hard to make progress.
I can’t praise this service enough as Dawn was able to help me as she could see the slow progress I made at the beginning and if I had not been supported by her all the way through my recovery, I’m sure I wouldn’t be where I am now.
There were times that I was upset, worried, anxious and Dawn reassured me all the way. I don’t believe that I would have made the progress I have if Dawn had been there for part of this journey, and for that I’m eternally grateful.
I still have a fair amount of work to do, the surgeons told me at least 1 year, but thanks to them and Dawn, I’m heading in the right direction.
"Reassured me all the way"
