About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Orthopaedics Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was brought over recently by an ambulance, the ambulance took 3 hours to arrive and then once I arrived at the hospital I waited another 3 hours in the ambulance. The staff are unbelievable, they cant do enough for you. My room is really clean, cleanliness is unbelievable. Communication is brilliant, everyone has been so helpful. I am very happy with my stay, staff are just great.

Good afternoon Niamhh1

I am grateful to you for taking the time to share your experiences of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. With regards to our response times please be assured that we are working closely with the Department of Health and the Strategic Planning and Performance Group to increase our available resources. We are also working with the local EDs to try to ensure that our patients can be handed over to hospital clinical teams as quickly as possible so that ambulance are able to respond to further emergencies.
