Key Work Sessions with Evie, ISFP Learn, Just for Today and Alcohol Group.
When I came into Recovery, I was alcohol dependent. I had just been referred by a Psychiatric Doctor from the hospital after drinking too much and ending up with a head injury after a black out.
My first session was with my Key Worker, Evie, and we instantly clicked. I found her compassionate and supportive but would kick me up the arse in a caring way when I needed it. I started attending Alcohol Group and found myself getting stronger and more determined about my recovery. All the group leaders were so good, I started going to all of them to boost my recovery. After each session I felt happy and stronger. The food at the Café each Friday is tasty and free which makes such a difference with people who are struggling to afford food. In my addiction, if I only had £10, it would have to go on Wine to stop my withdrawals rather than food, so it helped me. There is a good vibe, games and books also. I am now nearly 30 days sober and all done through One Recovery Bucks and putting in the effort and tools I have learnt not only from my Key Worker and groups but the community that attend the groups or Café also. I'm so happy I got referred and I didn't feel like I had to do it alone. I feel a part of the community that is One Recovery Bucks
