After 37 years with this surgery, registering both my husband and child here as well, after today I will be going elsewhere as the whole booking system is a joke.
Callback requested for my place in the queue - 1 minute after the phone line opened - called back 30 minutes later to be told no appointments unless it can't wait until the next day. My child is is in serious discomfort and distress and while it's not life threatening it's imperative he sees a doctor asap - but apparently that won't be at helsby street
This happens everytime yet when you do eventually get an appointment there's never anybody waiting in the waiting rooms so who do these appointments go to? And how do they get them so quickly when you can only book same day?
I appreciate the understaffing and underfunding of the NHS but why this surgery has never been efficient or particularly well managed in comparisons to numerous others locally I will never understand.
I can only hope they take a long hard look at the way this surgery is run and start again with efficient queuing and booking systems that make a patient feel like they're in good hands
