"Care of elderly parent"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a)

(as a relative),

My father was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) by ambulance following a collapse at his care home.

He was seen by A & E then transferred to ward 2A via ARU 4. After a couple of days it was clear he was coming to the end of his life.

All staff treated him with kindness and compassion, keeping him comfortable until he died. They were also supportive towards myself and my sister which helped us as we sat with him.

Thank you to everyone who helped us at this difficult time.

Dear Famxt58,

please accept our sincere condolences on the death of your father, I hope you and your family are coping as best you can at such a difficult time. I cannot express enough gratitude, that despite this being a time of upset for you all, you have taken the time to submit a care opinion praising the staff on the care your father received. I have passed on your kind comments to the staff within the Emergency Department & will forward them to the staff in ARU4 and ward 2b.

I hope you and your sister are as best as you can be at such an emotional time.

Take care,

with kind regards,

Karen

Thank you - please note the ward number was, I believe, 2A not 2B.
