"The staff are right on the ball"

About: Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Admissions Unit 1 (Emergency Medical) Victoria Hospital / Physiotherapy Victoria Hospital / Radiology Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I was in an accident and the ambulance, came very very quickly. I had to be transferred to the Accident & Emergency Department of the Victoria hospital in Kirkcaldy.

The Ambulance team were very sympathetic towards me. They were very good with me . They managed to keep me calm throughout the journey and I felt I was in safe hands.

I spent a little time in the Accident & emergency Department then a short time in the admission's unit. The staff were great in both areas.

I had a visit to radiology and although I was in a lot of pain I did exactly as they said. They were very good and really understood it was difficult for me as I was experiencing so much pain.

Since moving into ward 33 the staff here are right on the ball  they are all lovely.

This is a very busy ward but the staff always take time to stop for a chat This is good for me as I don't have many visitors.

The tea trolley comes around regularly I do look forward to this.

I have met with the Physiotherapist, she gave good instruction and explanation of exercises that I will be required to do to help in my recovery.

I also had a visit for the hospital Chaplain, I really did appreciate this.

To sum up I would just like to say the staff have all been great and the nursing staff here in ward 33 are fantastic.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience in hospital. As a radiographer who works in x-ray, I am sorry you were in pain, but it is great to hear that the x-ray staff explained everything to you, and were considerate of your pain.

I will be sure to pass this positive feedback on to the whole radiology team, as this is a real motivating tool for them all.

I wish you all the best in your recovery.

Zoë Maclaughlan

Senior Radiographer
