I had to take a disabled relation to this clinic as mentioned below on the appointment letter;
2 Week Wait Colorectal Outpatient Service - Cheltenham General Hospital - rte
Could we find it, no! We asked many people, but they did not know where it was. We drove to the outpatient area but again no one knew where this clinic was!
We phoned the number on the letter but that was only a booking office and they did not know the whereabouts of the clinic.
Eventually I found a porter, who looked in the hospital internal telephone directory for something similar. He thought it might be the Prestbury Clinic. He then rang the extension number and confirm it was the correct clinic.
He also found a wheel chair for my relation and we were able to get to the clinic, even if we were 20 minutes too late!
I can't understand why the location of the clinic isn't included on the appointment letter, as that would have narrowed it down to at least one area within the hospital? E.g. (wb) West Block or (cr) College Road Wing, etc...
I'm hoping you take notice of this problem and improve your systems accordingly... along with the capital letter filter on this web site...
"Difficult to find clinic from the appointment…"
