My grandad was admitted to Ward 2 Liberton Hospital in May 2023 after a long tough time at the Edinburgh royal infirmary.
We were welcomed by Fiona (charge nurse) of ward 2 who orientated us to the ward. From the day we arrived the staff made us feel so welcome. My grandad who had felt there was no hope to walk again was given opportunities to walk with staff and physio regularly. The activities co ordinator Alan is a great asset to the team always so friendly and making everyone laugh.
After 3 months in Liberton Hospital my grandad is finally being discharged to a care home. We could not have achieved this without the help and support from everyone at Liberton ward 2. The care and compassion the staff within this hospital give to every patient is invaluable. More so during times of uncertainty and the lack of services due to the potential closure of this hospital. The nursing staff and clinical support workers are so kind and always happy to help. We will be sad to say goodbye but we are moving on to another chapter. Thank you all so much. What a wonderful team.
"We can’t thank you enough"
