After spending a few days in Altnagelvin hospital I was due to be discharged. The lovely Danielle from the Pharmacy department came to give me medication before I left.
Danielle was an extremely pleasant and friendly lady. And more importantly was amazing at her job. She thoroughly went through the medication with me. She took her time and slowed down when explaining very very clearly what my instructions were. And she even broke down the pronunciation for me. Furthermore, she was able to advise me which medication was best suited to treat my condition, while taking into consideration the fact that I am breastfeeding.
Since I have started my breast feeding journey I have found many healthcare professionals are reluctant to give me any form of medication whatsoever (which is understandable to an extent), so it was great to see that Danielle was knowledgable about which medication was “breastfeeding friendly” as such and was able to point me in the right direction.
On a final note Danielle arrived back with my medication promptly which was fantastic as my lift was waiting to bring me home, so it was great not having to wait an extortionate amount of time for it.
A great experience dealing with Danielle. Amazing at her job and a credit to then Pharmacy department in Altnagelvin.
