Attended A&E following our newborn having a floppy episode with colour change at home. Staff were very attentive and helpful.
Really liked the doctor we saw forgotten her first name last name was Christmas. She was very calm and caring throughout and explained what was happening each step of the way.
Our nurse was great at advocating for us - for example after numerous tries to get a cannula they wanted to pass to feed our baby however we asked for time and space to try feed him ourselves - she dimmed the lights and gave us privacy to do skin to skin and he fed well.
We felt well supported and like the team were doing everything they could to help our son. Really liked the male consultant who ended up getting in the cannula he was very calm and his expertise was much appreciated after many other failed attempts at a very tricky cannula to site.
It was very traumatic so my only thing would be the option of debriefing at a later date for families may help to process these horrific situations.
Thank you
"Help to process these horrific situations."
