"Thank you to the staff and whole NHS for saving my life."

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Adult Critical Care Unit (ACCU) University Hospital Wishaw / Emergency Department University Hospital Wishaw / Physiotherapy University Hospital Wishaw / Respiratory Medicine (Ward 7)

(as the patient),

In December 2022, I was admitted to hospital with pneumonia then I developed organ failure and sepsis, my partner was told I may not make it, I was in a coma for 7 weeks. When I left hospital I couldn’t walk.

I got home and thanks to all the physio’s in hospital and to Linda who was the physio who came to my house I can now walk she was brilliant with me. Apart from walking she also taught me who to deal with the panic I was feeling.

Thank you so much Linda and the whole of the NHS for saving my life x

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story with us.

It is truly lovely to hear that Physiotherapy in Lanarkshire has been such a positive part of what sounds like a truly challenging experience for you and your family. I am really glad to hear that you are now on the road to recovery and that Linda and the Physiotherapy team were able to support with this, I will be sure to pass on your feedback to both her and the rest of the team.

Wishing you all the best in your continued recovery
