"Staff went above and beyond"

About: Mater Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

My mum had a bad fall, resulting in a deep laceration to her nose and a head injury. I left work,  picked my mum up and brought her to the Mater Hospital.

The staff were extremely efficient in triaging my mum almost immediately. She then had a CT brain and ECG. When she complained of her finger being sore she was instantly sent to X-ray where they discovered a broken ring finger.

I would like to name Dr Salman for his knowledge and relaying information to my mum in a person-centred manner.

I would also like to thank Specialist Nurse Joan in Minor Injuries, who went above and beyond and stayed past her working hours to personally make my mum some tea and toast as she had been in A&E for a long time.

Please make sure the staff on duty in Mater A&E know how valued they are.
