"My Angel in Blue"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Critical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

Between Sept and Nov last year I ended up in hospital with increased infection in my leg which led to sepsis. I was on the critical care ward. I then ended up with cellulitus, double pneumonia and diagnosed with sleep apnoea. I was close to death 3/4 times and lost the ability to walk and talk.

I wanted to recognise the exceptional care and dedication from one nurse in particular, Kelly, and the hospital, physio staff who were all excellent too.

Kelly was unbelievable in her approach, after having such multiple conditions I felt quite bombarded with information, but Kelly was able to explain everything in layman's terms, she went above and beyond and her knowledge was phenomenal. She was qualified to the hilt but had chosen to work on the wards and it was evident from our conversations that nursing was truly a vocation and she was devoted to her job.

Kelly is a credit to the NHS and the nursing professional, and I hope this feedback reaches her. Even the little thing were above and beyond, like making sure I had a TV in my side room so I didn't have too much quiet time to over think.

Thank you so much, I will always remember you and you have left a footprint in my life.
