"Left Thumb Fusion"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedic Ward B23

(as the patient),

I seen Dr Bennett May 2022 for arthritic pain in left thumb. Was given an injection to draw out fluid and return in a few months.

Contacted Orthopaedic Secretary who was very helpful and would speak to Dr Bennett
I then received a follow up appointment in August so that I could be put on the waiting list for Left thumb fusion.

11 months later given an date for Pre Op and 1 week later operation went ahead.

Dr Bennett showed compassion, patience and explained the procedure and recovery process.

Then 5 days later follow up appointment to get a reduced bandage on thumb and was so gentle and understanding taking bandage off.

Stitches will be removed in three weeks.

Can not thank the Surgeon. Theatre staff and nurses enough for their patience, care and understanding through this procedure.

I waited a long time for operation but was worth the wait.
