"Incredibly respectful and caring for my individual situation"

About: The Royal Victoria Infirmary / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

I was in ward 40 at the RVI in Newcastle Upon Tyne for the day to have surgery.

I was incredibly nervous and have a range of needs due to my mental health that make being in a stressful situation increasing difficult for me. Not only would this be nerve wracking for anyone, however as a transgender man having this nature of surgery can be quite triggering.

However, I can not fault the staff on the ward at all. They really looked after me and were incredibly respectful and caring for my individual situation.

I’d like to specifically mention Lynn. She was more than amazing and made my experience so much easier. She really looked after me and made me feel safe and comfortable. For that I can not thank her enough.

I would love if this could be passed on to her and the other nurses on ward 40.
