I have been in a few areas since being brought into the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy by ambulance.
The ambulance crew brought me in then took me to the Accident & Emergency Department. I spent a while there before being transferred into Admissions Unit 1.
The ambulance crew just could not be faulted, they were continually speaking to me, fully explaining all they were doing for me They were so good and this really did put me at ease.
The care I received in Accident & Emergency was great I was then transferred to Admissions Unit 1.
AU1 is really a very busy ward. The beds/patients are coming and going all the time. There is so much going on and I did find that it was difficult to rest and sleep. I couldn't help but notice how all of the staff maintained a pleasant manner tending to each patient with patience and care. I was really well cared for in AU1 and everything was fully explained to me .
I have also been in ward 43 and ward 51 and found the care and support to be very good. I was so fortunate that the radiology team were able to actually bring a portable X Ray machine to my bedside. I just though this was brilliant and made things a lot easier for me. I was kept informed throughout and it saved a journey to the Radiology department.
I cannot fault any of the care I have received in the Victoria Hospital.
"Staff maintain a pleasant manner even when the ward is extremely busy."
