"Rushcliffe CMHT"

About: Adult Mental Health Community / Rushcliffe Local Mental Health Team (LMHT)

(as a service user),

I have been under the CMHT since around June 2022, this is when I was assessed as needing support following my former CPN in Leicestershire trying to transfer my case.

It was recommended that I see a staff member who is training to be a counsellor. They were supposed to give me counselling sessions to process the trauma I had been through in my life and develop strategies to improve my management of my mental health condition.

There have been a total of 29 arranged appointments, they have cancelled 16. 7 weeks in a row the moment with no communication from the CMHT since the end of May. I understand the worker is off sick, I have been told to call the duty worker but whenever I call nobody answers and I do not feel a therapist can be replaced with an unknown duty worker who isn’t a therapist or training to be one.

I would like to be assessed by a psychologist as I feel my mental health condition is worse than the CMHT believes it to be. My GP told me I need to speak to the CMHT but I don’t have anyone overseeing my care or aware of who I would speak to, in other counties I’ve had a consultant who I could discus’s medications and these types of requests with.

My mental health has taken a sharp decline and I’ve had active suicidal thoughts and plans

My GP has given me a sick note from work for 4 weeks but I do not feel any better after 2 weeks off.

The work with the CMHT has bought all my trauma to the surface but due to inconsistencies in appointments, lack of knowledge by the worker and cancelled appointments - I feel I have been left in a worse place than when I started and now I feel like absolute rubbish.

I spent a very long time being abused everyday for 11 years, I just want help to process that and how to live a healthier life than I have since I escaped it.

Update posted by MatthewB (a service user)

Someone called me, not knowing why they were calling other than they’d been told to.

9 days later, they've not actioned anything we discussed in the phone call. They've not even informed the allocated worker that I do not wish to see them anymore.

I’ve not received a follow up, welfare check or anything at all.
