"You are a ward of stormtroopers!"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Clinical Oncology

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer in January this year. I began my immunotherapy/chemo treatment at the end of February with the fabulous staff in the oncology ward.

The care and kindness all the staff showed me was incredible. I had a tough time with side effects and thought I’d never get through the intravenous rounds.

How you all get through a day dealing with patients going through this type of treatment is beyond me! You are a ward of stormtroopers and deserve a mahoosive thank you from me and my family.

Keep doing what you do. Xx

Dear Dublin T

Being diagnosed with a terminal cancer can be devastating so I'm really grateful to you for taking the time to share your lovely experience of care whist receiving your immunotherapy/chemotherapy treatment at the end of February with the fabulous staff in the oncology ward.

The team in the haematology/oncology day unit work tirelessly to provide high quality care which is person centred and to provide a lovely atmosphere for patients receiving treatment with side effects.

The team will be humbled and delighted by your kind sentiments and knowing they have made a positive difference to your experience will be greatly valued.

I will forward your kind words to our senior charge nurse to share with the whole team.

wishing you all the best in your cancer journey and I hope we continue to support you when required.

Best wishes

Murdina
