"My journey of discovery and recovery"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as a service user),

I attended a GP appointment seeking a medication review for treatment of anxiety and depression. My doctor recommended that I explore some psychological support and signed me off as unfit for work.

My employer suggested I consult Here for You, and following a telephone assessment I was referred to Inclusion Thurrock for therapy. Over a period of time as a result of regular meetings with my therapist I discovered the extent of my problems. These encompassed my work life and personal relationships to a degree I never imagined possible. I was able to begin to address these in a safe and professional way while exploring a new approach and attitude to life. My outlook and lifestyle have changed dramatically and I have been able to return to work with a positive attitude of being in control with a new sense of purpose. This extends to my personal life where I am developing new habits and pastimes with family and friends.

Throughout my journey of discovery I have been completely impressed by the compassion and understanding from my therapist and the team of staff at Inclusion Thurrock. I would like to thank you all and recommend the service to my colleagues and friends to consider when in need of help. To say that I have been given the opportunity to become aware of life and appreciate it does not go far enough to describe my ongoing journey of recovery. Thank you.

Hello Gemini54,

Thank you for providing us with valuable feedback on your experience with us at Inclusion Thurrock. It is lovely to read that you were able to refer to our service for support when you needed it.

It is very common for our mental health to impact our work life and personal relationships, so it’s great that you were given a safe space to explore these in therapy. It is clear that you have learnt the tools and techniques needed to help manage these difficulties, such as developing new habits.

We are pleased that you found our staff and service to be compassionate and understanding and we are grateful for your recommendation. We hope that those who may also need to seek support are encouraged by your response to refer to our service for an assessment.

Best wishes on your journey of recovery,
Conor
