"Gynaecologist failed to diagnose me"

About: Neath Port Talbot Hospital / Gynaecology

Gynaecology centre is shocking to me. The secretary was never in, never answered the phone. I have tried to contact others but can’t get through, I have left countless messages and none have been answered. Really sad considering I waited on the waiting list for so long to not even be attended to. 

After a long process I finally saw the gynaecologist a couple times, they failed to diagnose me and after a nhs investigation they made numerous mistakes even calculating a test wrong. Because I kept denying birth control, they wanted to put a coil in and convinced me this would be the best for me. (I was put on another waiting list). Thankfully I saw a private gynaecologist who diagnosed me in 10 minutes with a simple calculation.

The hospital gynaecologist was impossible to contact and get an appointment with, it definitely wasn’t worth it as they recommend birth control as an easy solution without finding the problem.

Do not recommend based on my experience,  waiting on a waiting list, then on the receptionist, then on an appointment list to see this gynaecologist.

I had a serious health problem that put me at risk and to be undermined and recommended to take birth control was extremely upsetting. Birth control does not fix the problem.
