"Patient care and dignity"

About: General Practices in Grampian

(as a service user),

I was in for a routine smear test with the nurse at my local GP surgery.

The nurse was very friendly and reassuring from the very beginning and took time to speak to me and my 10-month old who was making some noise in the buggy.

The nurse put us both at ease and talked me through every step of the process before it happened and advised me that if I was uncomfortable at any time she would stop and it wouldn't be a problem.

She ensured that my baby was able to see me and spoke to him throughout the procedure too, keeping him calm and in turn also keeping me calm! She really was so so patient and made the experience easy and less stressful.

I just wanted to pass on to her my thanks and feedback so she can continue knowing the care she provides really does have a positive impact on patient experience.

Thank you, Dawn! A real asset to my local GP service and NHS.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely feedback with us Kefppy. Sounds like practice nurse Dawn is a real asset to the team - knowing just what to say to help patients, and their wee ones, feel calm and at ease.

Being independent contractors the General Practices in Grampian aren't signed up to receive feedback directly from Care Opinion, but I'd be happy to forward this message to them. If you'd like me to do that can you email / text / call me with the practice name please? My contact details are: kirsten.dickson@nhs.scot / 07885720267.

Take care,

Kirsten
