My son had a fall whilst on a family day out, resulting in a visit to A&E at University Hospital Ayr, transfer to 1B at Crosshouse Hospital and Theatre the following day.
My son was in extreme pain from a broken humerus when we arrived at Ayr A&E. He was seen extremely quickly. All staff in A&E were extremely kind, caring, friendly and professional. They offered my son reassurance/distraction and kept me well informed of the planned transfer to Crosshouse Hospital which was arranged quickly following x-rays. Special thanks to Derek, Deputy Charge Nurse, and Leanne, Staff Nurse.
Our experience with both Ayr and Crosshouse Hospitals was extremely positive coming into contact with many dedicated, kind and caring staff in ward 1B (particularly Leah) and day surgery also, all of whom took the time to explain what was happening in terms my son could understand. We could not fault the care we received.
"Our experience was extremely positive"
