"I really do feel that I am listened to"

About: Care at home Community health and care services / Community Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy / Physiotherapy (inpatients) Victoria Hospital / Occupational Therapy Victoria Hospital / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have had previous visits to Ward 31 in the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. During every visit and stay I have had I have found the staff to be brilliant.

I have no fault with any member of staff. Safety is a priority in this ward

Paul - one of the nurses - is so caring and encouraging, he really has helped me to get back on my feet, I feel so reassured in his care.

I have been given a Zimmer frame and this has helped me a lot. The support I have received at home from Fife council has been brilliant, they have brought me a toilet seat, a support for my bed and a shower stool this has helped me.

I have received a letter informing me that a care package has been arranged for me when I go home and I am most grateful for this.

The Occupational therapists and the Physiotherapists have all been very good.

My care has been good and everything I need is brought to me. I really do feel that I am listened to.

The Doctor I have seen has been amazing He was able to talk me through pain and keep me calm until the pain relief started to work. Following this he continually popped in the make sure I was OK

All Staff I have seen have been lovely they really care.

Thank you for all your very kind and wholly positive feedback. I am delighted to read that you have received such a great care and attention from all of the various health professionals that have been involved in your care.

Specifically from the perspective of (interim) Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy, I am hugely pleased to know that our staff have been so supportive, helpful and caring. We wish you all the very best for the future and hope that you enjoy being back home soon. However, should you ever require any Occupational therapy input at home then please do not hesitate to contact the Community Occupational Therapy service via the Social Work Contact Centre.

Best Wishes, Neil
