"Very dissatisfied "

About: Newham General Hospital

I went to A&E at midnight due to unbearable pain in my lower abdomen, which I thought could either be apendicitis or kidney stones, as I was passing blood in my urine the previous day.

The department was busy and the receptionists were very rude, telling me that I’m gonna have to wait 7 hours to see a doctor (no greeting, no politeness, nothing). I had vitals and blood taken within an hour max but then ended up waiting over 10 hours to see a doctor. In the meantime absolutely no one even acknowledged you, so unless you’re constantly asking around you won’t find out anything.

I understand that A&E is busy, but waiting 10-12 hours is just ridiculous. In addition, the NHS overall is disappointing, as this could’ve been avoided was I able to get an urgent GP appointment and then an urgent referral to the Imaging department, as I needed a scan.
