I went for outpatient hysteroscopy over a year ago. I had womb thickening, bloating and pain and the procedure was to get a sample for biopsy. As a post menopausal women with an inverted womb, I was told only that I might feel some slight discomfort akin to period pains. At that appt a member of the gynae staff (no scrubs) attempted to take samples from my womb. I stopped the procedure due to severe pain, I could feel every attempt at scraping their way in. I was made to feel the issue was was my pain threshold.
I then went for same under GA (March 2022) although they were actually wanting to try another OPH) …..surgeon punctured my womb so op abandoned (still no sample) and I was put on IV antibiotics and kept in overnight.
Another attempt under GA was made in June 2022 ….this time guided by ultrasound. Again my womb was punctured during the attempt. No samples were taken. I was then sent for full MRI in July 2022….to be given the ‘all clear’ and told ‘no sign of cancer’.
When I asked why the MRI couldn’t have been done first I was told that it was too expensive! I have still received no written report only a 5 minute call from surgeon.
