I was scheduled in for a tonsillectomy in Lagan Valley. I was extremely anxious and nervous. From the receptionist to the nursing assistants, the surgeons and the anaesthetist, the support was honestly incredible. I was checked up on numerous times and I appreciated how honest and reassuring they were every step of the way. All my questions were answered with compassion and they always ensured I got the answers I needed.
The nursing staff (Daphne, Hazel and Ryan) were so approachable and supportive and I was so grateful to Connor who took the time to explain the process of how general anaesthetics work to me and told me what I should be feeling and that it was normal. One of the surgery staff even held my hand without me asking and it was so comforting to know she understood and was there. I hope they go home with massive smiles on their faces knowing they literally changed my outlook on hospitals and surgeries, the experience was such a breeze with staff as attentive as that. Thank you all so much.
ps - the toast was toasted to perfection, best snack I’ve ever had.
