"The staff were fantastic"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I attended A&E with my daughter who has Autism and complex mental health problems.  She was advised to attend by her GP following a telephone appointment.

The staff were fantastic – each and every one of them. The clerical staff, domestic, porters, nursing staff, students, x ray and in particular, the doctor she saw.

I appreciate how busy the department was but the staff were very patient and took her Autism into consideration at all times. She felt very relaxed in a busy and unknown environment, which can often be very stressful for her. They were very thorough and showed care and compassion throughout.

I’d like to pass on our thanks and let the team know how much we appreciated their kindness.

Dear Carer62

I am glad we were able to provide an environment within x-ray that allowed both yourself and daughter to have a positive experience with us. I will pass on your kind words to our Radiographers at RAH.

Thanks

Amy

Thank you so much Carer62

Your kind words will be truly appreciated by the whole team. I am proud to respond on behalf of the A&E staff involved and will most certainly pass on your comments to the bosses of the other teams mentioned.

The complexity of your daughter's Autism being considered throughout your journey is massively reassuring and will be well received by all involved. They will know who they are when your post appears in the Department Staff Room.

Thank you once again for sharing your daughter's experience on Care Opinion.

Best wishes

Gerry
