"Childrens A&E & Starlight Ward"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

My review is about childrens A&E and the Starlight children’s day ward. Took my 6 year old son in yesterday afternoon after he took a turn for the worse three days into a tummy bug. It was very busy when we got there but we were seen swiftly as they could see that he was not very responsive. They acted quickly to get get him on a IV and test all his vital signs. From the moment we got there the doctors and all the nurses and staff were wonderful. Caring, compassionate, professional, explained everything and did their best to put us at ease. Everyone who saw us is an absolute credit to the NHS and Wythenshawe hospital. After some time in A&E they admitted him to the children’s ward for further monitoring. We saw three doctors in all and numerous nurses and each one in both departments made us feel like a priority.

We have had to take our son to A&E at Wythenshawe, 3-4 times over the last 6 years and every time they have been absolutely amazing.

Thank you
