"Queens medical Centre- food"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I found the food at the QMC is a disgrace.  I was told I was in for treat for lunch as it was fish & chips which was the best meal option of the week.  The chips were barely warm, soggy on the outside and raw in the middle.  I don’t know what the fish was but edible isn’t a word I use to describe it, the batter was undercooked and soggy and I can only assume the fish was something the found, put in a blender and reshaped into something that resembled a fish fillet. Grey, mushy and rancid taste and smell.  The other meals went down hill from there, ice cream scoops of mash that were so dry that if you stuck a fork in vertically you could pick the whole scoop up whist keeping the prongs of the fork vertical and in didn’t fall off, the nearest the mash came to seeing any dairy is the potato delivery went past a dairy farm on route.  Veg that was so badly overcooked it was little more than pulp and to overcooked to blend into soup as all the Flavour had gone.

Thank you for sharing your experience within our hospitals we take great care in the menu’s that we provide for our patients and nutrition is very important to us.

Whilst we provide a varied diet that caters to all tastes it sounds like this didn’t reach you in the condition that it should have. I have passed this information on to the Manager of catering services. All feedback such as yours helps us to improve services that we provide to our patients and helps us to make these experiences better.

Thank you again for providing feedback.
